Common Purpose

Whether you are a potential partner, payer, physician, patient in need or other, we hope our website captures the excitement we feel within the company and our belief that our products will make a major difference in healthcare.

Our focus is on creating drug delivery technologies that in essence “make good drugs better.” We hope to accomplish this by taking aim at one of the healthcare industry’s greatest challenges: to efficiently and reliably deliver drugs to targeted, hard to reach areas of the body in order to treat medical conditions. We like to say “right drug” in the “right amount” in the “right place.” In that sense, our technologies are enablers of drugs.

In the case of OptiNose, our “way in” is through the nose and the area of targeted drug delivery is the nasal cavity. We have created an elegant, simple-to-use device based on our breakthrough technology which uses the natural function of a patient’s breath to propel medications into the nasal cavity more consistently and efficiently than current treatment approaches.

We are beginning clinical trials to seek FDA approval to use our technologies to deliver fluticasone, an intranasal steroid used to treat nasal polyps, and sumatriptan, a medication used to treat migraines. Approvals for these indications would achieve our mission of improving quality of life for patients by providing new and better alternatives to existing treatments for the underserved conditions of nasal polyposis and migraine.

Our research to date suggests impressive clinical results and a new alternative in these two areas alone would make for a very successful business. But this is just the beginning. Even more exciting, we believe, over time, we can expand our efforts across multiple debilitating diseases and platforms such as vaccines, biologics and over-the-counter medications.

Further, we believe we can change the way traditional pharmaceutical companies develop and go to market with medications. Our technologies hold the potential to be disruptive in the marketplace by dramatically cutting the historical drug development costs, developing new approaches to commercialization and providing pharmaceutical partners with a novel collaboration that can enhance their current and future pipelines.

Integral to our mission of making drugs better is how we will work together towards achieving that right-minded goal. OptiNose has been built on friendship and respect. From the husband and wife team who founded the Company in 2000 to the growing cadre of senior leadership, extensive industry knowledge and experience will enable us to know what works and which mistakes to avoid.

Our mantra of desiring to work with “nice” people and “doing good while doing good business” embodies the company’s culture and mission. We share ideals such as openness, possibility thinking, fearless conversations and authenticity in addition to friendship and practice these ideals every day. We are looking for partners and future colleagues who share these views.

We have a near-term plan and long-term vision and a strong team to guide us. Keep an eye on us as we keep an eye on shaping the future landscape of healthcare.

In friendship,

Peter Miller, Chief Executive Officer
